There were several names and slightly changed with one exception were all held at 1609 Trexlertown Road, Macungie, Pennsylvania. All variation of names have something in common: 100. That means it was named for that road, Route 100 in that town. The 100 was actually a nickname. People would name a business with such that. Like Destiny USA has a nickname, "Destiny" without the USA. Or for its old name, Carousel Center which was actual name. We all called it, Carousel Mall which is a nickname and easier for people to know what we are talking about. Or even old names we still call those places with new names. Carousel Mall is still the name I use for Destiny USA. Another-- Fayetteville Mall for Towne Center at Fayetteville, I think. Hey, confusing? McD or Mickey D's are the nicknames for McDonalds. You get the idea now.
The official name was, drum roll..., Route 100 Roller Rink.
Rollermotion was only exception that was quite different. No "100" in its name.
I am using the nickname here, The 100. The 100 began in 1973.
The 100 rink was owned by Carol's parents and then Carol and Bruce Schaeffer took over operations in the late 1990s. You see, Carol began to work even in 1973.
The name Route 100 Roller Rink was changed to Rollermotion in 2006 because Route 100 was re-routed and the road where the skating rink on was renamed as Trexlertown Road. This is why Google Map does not work to find it. You have to use Trexlertown Road on the map.
Rollermotion was closed for good in 2013 due to sort of forced retirement because of rising cost of taxes, cost of operations and yes, music license as well as Carol, the co-owner said, In fact, "Years ago, we could hold our own, but not anymore, not without piles of people coming in. And despite all of the signs stating 'skate at your own risk,' we still have to deal with injury lawsuits." Heard of waivers? That is necessary today. I hate waivers but have to do so for your own protections.
It was sold in 2015 to a church, Life Church.

It is a Gabled Roof Free-Span Steel Trusses Steel Walled Warehouse like building. Rollermotion had White color walls on the exterior.
